Will Mitchell,
CEO & Co-Founder

Will’s deep experience in GIS system design, deployment and operations, as well as his technical and applied business experience, enables him to deliver high-value geospatial business insight and product vision. As the CEO of VETRO, Will leads a diverse technical team delivering a transformational and category-expanding fiber management software platform. Will holds a Master of Science degree in Geographic and Cartographic Science from George Mason University and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Will’s mission is for VETRO to become the best broadband network mapping platform in the world, enabling competitive network operators to modernize the internet at the infrastructure level. Will leads the team that is building the digital home of the physical internet.

Michaela Goodwin,
CFO

Michaela thrives as a strategic financial leader in dynamic, growth-oriented SaaS technology companies where she can build infrastructure to support scale. With 10+ years experience as a CFO, Michaela delivers value by focusing on more effective ways for teams to drive results; by leveraging data, metrics, customer interactions and by building strong relationships with colleagues, board members, and investors. Michaela earned a CPA while at Arthur Andersen and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is thrilled to be part of a company with a mission to increase connectivity for all; bridging the digital divide.

Brian Mefford,
VP of Broadband Strategy

Brian joined VETRO with a wealth of experience helping to shape federal and state broadband programs and leading community broadband efforts in rural areas. Prior to VETRO, Brian founded Connected Nation, a nonprofit focused on enriching community broadband access. During his time at Connected Nation, Brian led the spin out of CNX, a platform for establishing public/private broadband network deployment partnerships that provided the nexus at which Brian first met and worked with the founders of VETRO to develop a 5G asset management solution. Brian has worked with government leaders at all levels to advance innovation, providing testimony regularly for state legislatures and the U.S. Congress and consulting with federal agencies including the FCC, NTIA, USDA and the State Department. Brian has served as adjunct faculty in the University of Kentucky’s Gatton School of Business and Economics, teaching entrepreneurship in the MBA program. Brian received a BS in Economics from Centre College and an International MBA from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Brian’s mission is to grow and optimize broadband access around the world, with a focus in rural areas.

JD Doyle,
CTO/SVP of Engineering

JD brings 27 years of experience leading the development of large cloud data and analytics solutions, as well as a history of successfully scaling startup engineering groups. He brings a track record of delivering disruptive technology products and analytics to market in the renewable energy, mobility, fintech, transportation, and communications markets.

As CTO/SVP of Engineering at VETRO, JD continues to extend the VETRO FiberMap® cloud fiber management platform, focusing on positioning VETRO as the industry’s leading infrastructure data hub via open APIs and integration with third-party partners. Internally, he is responsible for product development and DevOps of Vetro’s cloud based production environment.

James Freeze,
Chief Commercial Officer

Jim has 25 years of revenue-focused executive leadership experience in both SaaS and Telecom. He is an experienced leader in go to market functions and strategy including sales, marketing, partner programs and business development. He has a proven track record of successful rebranding and go to market strategy for companies such as AI leader Interactions and Aspect Software and served as the Chief Marketing and Sales officer at internet service provider Genuity (acquired by CenturyLink), where he played a central role in the company’s $1.9 billion IPO. 

Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jim is an avid college football fan, having obtained multiple degrees from The Ohio State University and in his free time, serves as a Board of Trustee for the Miami City Ballet.
