How Aspire Turns Field Photos into a Long-Term Network Record

The company built fiber networks for other providers for years as Aspire Communications. Now operating as Aspire Fiber, it is building and owning its own FTTH network, making accurate construction documentation more important than ever. Using VETRO Mobile, Aspire crews document construction as it happens and store those records alongside the network itself.

The Challenge

As a network owner, Aspire needs more than a record of what was designed. It needs evidence of what was actually built, what conditions looked like at the time of construction, and whether work met expectations.

That documentation can become critical long after crews leave the site.

The Solution

Aspire uses VETRO Mobile to capture photos throughout its construction process—from vault installations and restoration work to resident notifications and no-parking notices.

When a vault is installed, field crews upload photos and change its status in VETRO. Project managers review those photos as part of QA/QC before approving the change, creating a documented link between the completed work, payment and the network status.

Aspire also uses photo documentation to support its commitments to the cities where it builds. Before construction begins, crews distribute door tags and post required no-parking notices, capturing timestamped photos of both in VETRO.

The Business Impact

  • Integrated QA/QC, network updates, and billing: Field work is reviewed and approved using photo documentation in VETRO. That approval integrates the completed work into Aspire’s system of record and triggers the associated billing milestone.
  • Better community and municipal accountability: Timestamped documentation helps Aspire demonstrate that residents received advance notice and that required construction notifications were completed.
  • A record for future disputes: If restoration fails or a complaint arises months or years later, Aspire can return to the original photos to show the condition of the site and how the work was left.
  • A more valuable, defensible network asset: Aspire increasingly treats VETRO as a reliable source of truth for investors. The result is not only better visibility into the build, but a permanent body of evidence documenting the infrastructure behind the business.

“When it comes time to demonstrate the value of the business, we’ll have more than a network map—we’ll have a documented record of what we built. That level of detail ultimately adds to the valuation of the business.”

— Stephen Weatherford, Founder & CEO, Aspire Communications
